Causing Chaos
While I was reading Aoife a story this morning Hugo decided to get himself some books. He is very determined and likes to use shelves to pull himself up to stand. What a monkey!

Wild Oats have stopped stocking gDiapers :(
This is a big disappointment – and I’ve written to Wild Oats asking them to reconsider.
Hopefully when/if our local store becomes a Whole Foods we’ll get them back. Sigh.
There are all sorts of inventions out there designed to make parenting easier. I can’t believe how much has changed in the last few years.
Surely this has to be a joke.
A bargain at $65! Does anyone have one I can borrow to see if my maternal instinct is set to the right chanel?
Hugo has been saying Mama and Dada for a while but he has started trying to sign it recently. It is really sweet as he is a bit random with his movements still but it is clear what he is trying to do.
He got really enthusiastic about signing milk this evening. I remember so clearly when Aoife starting to sign ‘hungry’ long before she could say it.
Aoife has always had the nickname ‘baba’. I guess we still use it more than we realise as Hugo has started to say ‘baba’ when he is looking at Aoife.
Is it really possible that he will be 10 months old on Tuesday?
Martin’s hair had got really long and was badly in need of a cut. I strongly suggested to him that he got it cut before going to Yellowstone so that it would look better in pictures.
I was slightly shocked when he came back from the barbers having had a ‘number 2′ all over. Ok- I was more than slightly shocked.. It just looked crazy.
After a few days I was less in shock and Martin’s hair had more than doubled in length. I still think Hugo’s hair is longer though.
Rachael went home yesterday. We miss her already.
Today we got up and for some nostalgic reason really wanted to go to The Lincolnshire Poacher or The Victoria for a traditional Sunday lunch and a pint or two.
We had a really relaxing, enjoyable few days in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.
The only thing that Grania and Aoife really wished they had seen were bears. We had seen wild bison, coyote, deer, a weasel, moose – but no bear.
I think we were all resigned to not seeing any bear when on our way home we turned a corner and found..
We’ve spent the day up in Yellowstone.
The weather was fantastic – sunny but cold. Ideal for walking.
We all did a round trip walk to a rarely visited geyser – Lone Star. You have to walk or cycle the round trip. It’s over five miles in total. Aoife did brilliantly and walked almost all the way. Hugo loved the baby carrier!
We saw a lot of wildlife; a coyote, deer, hundreds of squirrels.
The highlight was seeing Lone Star Geyser erupt - it was almost a private showing for less than ten people.
Contrast this with the hundreds who saw Old Faithful later that evening.
