Planting tomatoes
It’s this time every year that we get to plant tomatoes.
I rediscovered this video from 2005 – when Aoife was almost two – when we were about to do planting. Look how Aoife has grown!

It’s a lovely sunny day – 31′C in the garden right now.

I’ve been planting more tomato plants in the garden with Aoife. We also planted strawberry plants and some herbs.
We’re now sitting in the garden, having a cold drink and listening to ska.
One of our friends – Brooke – runs a rail yard in SLC; Grandpop got to visit and look around.
So many thanks to Brooke! Grandpop was absolutely thrilled.
The new GPS tracked every move we made in Moab. I even uploaded the data into the Topo maps tool to show where we went.
I sent this email to Starbucks on behalf of Grania:
The Draper, UT store consistently fails to please.
Today I visited the store, ordered my regular Grande cappuccino – and received a very wet latte. I had to request three times for the drink to be remade; each time I received a latte.
This is not an isolated incident; the stores in Utah; especially the Draper store; are absolutely unable to make a cappuccino. I now have to specifically request a ‘very dry’ cappuccino; 50% of the time I get something approximating an acceptable drink.
Please can you make it a priority to re-train your barrista in the skills of a fine cappuccino. When made well they are superb at Starbucks. I don’t expect to be drinking a cup of warm milk; I expect espresso, perfect foam and a little milk.
I look forward to your comments.
Never ignore the cones in the construction zone.
Seen on State Street at about 10000 South in Sandy.
Guess someone has some explaining to do. That thing wasn’t coming out of the 3 foot deep pipe trench.
I’ve posted most of the pictures from our Moab trip; the only piece that I’ve not put up yet are the panoramic photos of the views.
The landscapes of Arches and Canyonlands can’t be shown in a single picture; I’ve tried to take make some panoramic views and put them up. They’ll take a little time. I made some when I was in China.
We had a good few days geocaching in Moab and the surrounding area. The five of us found a dozen caches.
