I was moving data around servers (Grandma and Grandpa are coming, my office becomes the guest bedroom, servers need consolidating..) and I found a lot of old digital camera pictures from 1999 through to 2002.
I posted them to the web site – they might be interesting seeing them again.
The most surprising thing is the size, resolution and quality of the pictures – they are tiny. Taken on a really old, first generation, digital camera – a Kodak. I clearly remember buying this in 1998. My phone takes better pictures today.

Aoife likes playing “I Spy” – and we have to play it every time we are in the car now.
Today we had a classic from Aoife:
“I Spy with my little eye.. something the colour of …. red”
We went through the usual suspects; cars, signs, writing, clothes – no luck.
“It’s inside the car”
Hmm. Shoes? Sock?
“It’s on my finger. It’s a bogey!”
Yuk. Here’s looking forward to Grandma getting this game.

Next you need to customise your screensaver by download these registry changes here. (Right click, save to desktop, then click to install. Again – perfectly safe; let Windows make changes to your registry).
Voila. You should see that your wallpaper and screensaver take random pictures from the last three years.

Grania has now got a cleaner. (It’s taken her ten years to listen to all of her friends and heed their advice). To be honest it’s really made a difference now we have Aoife and Hugo.
Kathy is fantastic and does a really thorough job. It’s nice to have someone that can spend time doing all of the jobs that take forever.
Only problem is that things get put away in unexpected places. All of the surfaces are cleared and it’s a real puzzle trying to work out whether Aoife or Kathy have put something away.
Interesting – an article in todays Salt Lake Tribune talking about the ‘industrial food’ that we all eat. This in Utah; maybe a sign of change.

On transport:
In the United States, most food travels between 1,500 and 2,500 miles from farm to table, according to the Worldwatch Institute, an international think tank for environmental and social trends. That mileage is up as much as 25 percent from 20 years ago.
On eating local:
Better flavor is just one of the reasons that “eat local” is one of Slow Food’s mantras.
In Utah, where the growing season is rather short, it is probably impossible to have a completely local kitchen. But within the state’s borders, there are breadmakers, cheese producers and people who raise lamb, pork and beef. Buying from them can help build the economy and produce jobs. For every $1 that is spent on a Utah product, $1.50 to $2.50 is added to the state’s economy, according to estimates by the Utah’s Own program, which promotes statemade products.
